Dartmouth, Hiatus, New ID?

Fri Mar 27, 2009, 3:08 PM
I'm going to Dartmouth for my Ph.D. in Pharmacology.

I've been busy as always and have neglected dA. I think this summer when I move to Hanover I'm going to maybe create a new devID.

I now have a website, too: osiphotos.com

As always, thanks for the support even though I haven't been around.

This guy has been through everything and anything you can imagine. And through it all his artwork has only gotten a million times better. Keep it up Kyle!

I took one look at her gallery and was in love. She has absolutely beautiful portraiture with a modern look on retro styles, if that's even possible. Her color and composition catch the eye and I hope her creativity keeps running strong. Keep it up!!

Thank you :)

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting my work lately. I really appreciate it all.

As you probably have seen, I've been getting a lot of use out of Korbin and have posted quite a few photos--more are coming! I've fallen in love with IR photography and now have figured out a way to FOCUS in IR, which will then let me use wider aperatures and thus smaller shutter speeds--so be on the lookout.

IT'S FINALLY FALL!! Which is my favorite season! So hopefully my camera will be coming out a lot this season.

If there's anything I should do/keep doing/should not do, let me know! I'm willing to do features and such too, and maybe even a contest or two--so if you have any ideas TELL ME!

PS: I'm getting behind on deviation comments only because I've had such busy weeks with school. Don't hate me if I comment a few weeks after you post a deviation, I promise I'm looking at them!!

PSS: I have my own website coming soon!!

Unique, bright, and sharp--his portraits are beautiful and I often can't take my eyes off of them. He has a great eye for sharp photos. His lighting is beautiful and he uses it to his advantage. I'm very glad I came across his work and I support him 100%!

:iconthinhlegolas:

Definitely check out this gallery--his landscapes are beautiful--they are rich with color and warmth, yet seemingly very realistic. This guy deserves a little bit more attention than it seems he has been getting. Keep up the good work!

Me + New Features

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 29, 2008, 8:06 AM
Well I figured it's time for an update.

I feel like my photography has gotten better recently, though my pageviews, comments, and photograph views say differently. Oh well.

I've read a few photography books and think I have a better handle on photography basic technique and am currently challenging myself to shoot only in manual mode.

Soon, I might be receiving an XTi, but I can only hope.

I actually want to try doing digital pinhole photography, so look for that in the next few weeks. I also want to start doing some IR photography as well.

I'm studying for the GREs currently and am going to visit the University of Vermont on the 15th of August--I'm a chemistry major now and want my Ph.D. in Pharmacology or Toxicology.

Sooooooo that was all about me. Hope you're all doing well :)

She has great talent and is a great person, even though I haven't talked to her in awhile. I hope she doesn't think I forgot about her because I haven't :) She seems to store a lot of emotion into her photography--either that or she fills them with color and/or a retro feel. I don't have enough room to put all the photos here that I love of hers, so definitely check out her gallery. I've only seen her photography get better over time. Keep it up :)

:iconbuev:

Quite a new deviant, this guy (minus the creepy devID) looks like he has promise. I love the light colors and chalky tones. There is definitely talent, and he deserves a little more recognition than he has at the moment. Keep up the hard work, I'd like to see your work grow!!

My Big Return! +Features

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 8, 2008, 12:20 PM
Well –I’ve officially returned to dA (again!)

I went through some rough personal stuff and at the same time, I had finals and school work that piled up like whoa.

I don’t feel like going into complete details. Also, I was supposed to be receiving a Canon Rebel XTi, which surprise, I didn’t get. I can only imagine why.

So for now, :iconfroggynaan: has let me borrow his Rebel XT that he isn’t using anymore, for which I have a 18-55mm lens and a 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens for.

I’ve also gotten out a few photography books from the library and am reading up and trying to improve my photography.

Thanks again to everyone who supports me and supported me even when I wasn’t here. For those of you who watch me, I hope I can provide better art for you guys to view--please give me feedback so I know what I’m doing correctly and what I’m doing incorrectly.

I think I’ve seen big changes from when I first started with photography up to now; I’m really trying to grow as a photographer. I know I’ll probably never be a famous photographer or ever do it professionally, but it’s a great hobby of mine and I hope to keep it up for a long while.

Oh and even though he probably won’t see this: I adore you Jason Russell

And: Thanks Kyle :iconkyrelimit: for the new journal! It looks amazing!!!! :D

:iconkyrelimit:

He’s gone through some rough times but he’s stayed the great person he is through them all. He’s helped me out a lot too, and he made this new journal for me. This was the least I could do to thank him. His photography comes out with very powerful meaning, and he has this uncanny ability of making his photos very soft, well lit, and dreamy. His digital work is great too—he has a good eye for graphic arts. Keep up the good work Kyle! And thanks for everything :)

:iconvoy:

I feel as though his work is underappreciated. I can see by looking through his gallery that his photography has grown over time and I hope that it continues to grow.

I featured these three photos in particular because I wanted to stress the simplicity in his style, along with the way he makes your eye move in the photos. The tones are very nice, making for soft, dreamy photos.

Keep up the good work!

Reappearing.

My life has been very hectic the past few months, which resulted in my disappearing from dA. I will be making my comeback very shortly.

I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate those who have supported my work while I was gone.

Thank you very much. <3
